Missouri Wraps Up Day Two of Big 12s

Austin, Tex.-- Missouri had another succesful night in the pool, and finished day two of the Big 12 Championships in third place behind Texas A&M and Texas with a score of 249.0.
In the first event, the 200 free relay, Missouri's 'A' relay team of Roko Simunic, Anders Melin, Mark Conroy, and Jordan Hawley placed second in 1:17.95. The non-scoring team of John Krause, Adam Abernathy, Joe Hladik and Scott Martin finished in 1:21.74.
Next in the 500 free, Spenser Lauver placed ninth for the Tigers, finishing in 4:33.68. Ethan Rose placed 10th in 4:35.30, while Vito Cammisano finished 11th in 4:35.32.
In the 200 IM, Yaniv Shnaider led the way for Missouri with a sixth place finish, clocking in at 1:49.30. Scott Martin placed 10th in 1:49.07, John Higgins finished 12th in 1:49.86, Jowan Qupty took 13th in 1:50.52 and Colin Livasy finished 14th in 1:51.63.
In the last event of the day, the 50 free, Anders Melin placed sixth in 20.09, while Jordan Hawley finished seventh in 20.12. Roko Simunic placed ninth for the Tigers, finishing in 20.10, while Mark Conroy took 12th in 20.79, David Dorak placed 14th in 21.33 and Michael Lopresti took 15th in 21.63.
The Tigers will resume competition tomorrow morning, when prelims start at 10:00 am.
