Mizzou Tennis had a successful weekend against Saint Louis University going 5-1 in singles and winning all three of their doubles matches to take the doubles point. The match was won 6-1 in a good day for the team as well as coaches Steven Stuckenschneider and Helena Besovic.
Doubles partners Kaitlyn Ritchie and Mallory Weber won their match 8-2. Freshmen Rachel Stuhlmann and Annemijn Koenen defeated their opponents 8-7 while Jamie Mera and Maria Christensen dominated their match 8-1.
Singles competition was just as victorious for the team. Weber won 6-3, 6-2. Mera was triumphant winning 6-0, 6-0. Christensen won 7-6, 6-4 while Stuhlmann beat her challenger 6-3, 6-3. Besovic also won 6-1, 6-2. Ritchie put forth a good effort but came up short 3-6, 4-6. The Tigers will compete next weekend at Louisville and Purdue.
Competition will begin at 10 a.m. in Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 19 and continue in Indiana on Sunday, Feb. 20 at 12 p.m.
