Tigers Ink Two New Recruits

Photo Gallery Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri Gymnastics program proudly announces the addition of two stellar gymnasts for the upcoming 2013 season. Head Coach Rob Drass, with the help of recruiting coordinator John Figueroa, has signed Blair Elmore and Miranda Eubank to national letters of intent.

Blair Elmore will come to Missouri from Houston, Texas, where she currently attends Clear Lake High School. Elmore has been competing as a Level 10 gymnast for three years and is currently coached by Kellie Mizoguchi at Champion Gymnastics Academy. In 2010, Elmore earned fifth place honors in the all-around at the Metroplex Meet in Dallas, Texas. She also placed fifth on floor at the 2010 Buckeye Classic. She is a Texas State meet competitor, and also took fourth on floor at the 2010 Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament. She earned fifth place on beam and seventh in the all-around at the meet as well. Elmore is currently enrolled in advanced placement classes and boasts a 5.3 grade point average.

"Blair comes to us from Houston, Texas," Head Coach Rob Drass said. "She is a fantastic s tudent as she had the opportunity to attend several Ivy League schools in place of Missouri. Blair also has a good foundation and strong knowledge of gymnastics. We are excited to see her gymnastics improve to an even higher level incollege. We are really looking forward to having her come in as a strong asset to our program, she is definitely an outstanding person."

"We're very excited for Miranda to come in," Head Coach Rob Drass said. "We feel like she is the whole package as she is a strong in the all-around. Champion Gymnastics in Kentucky does a great job of preparing their athletes for the collegiate level, so we think she will be a great addition. She is a great student, a fantastic person and a great gymnast, which are three things that we look for. She definitely has her best years ahead of her."

A native of Louisville, Ky., Eubank will come to Missouri after training under Tiffany Orem at Champion Gymnastics. She currently attends DuPont Manual High School. As a Level 9 competitor, Eubank took the All-Around title at the 2009 Region 5 Championships. She also took first in the All-Around at the Meet Me in St. Louis in 2010. As a Level 10 competitor, Eubank placed first in the All-Around at the Kentucky State Championships and earned second place honors on bars at the Region 5 Championships. Eubank also maintains a 3.9 grade point average in her classes.

"I chose Mizzou because I love the awesome amenities they offer to their athletes, I love the coaches, the academics are great, and Columbia is a great place to be," Eubank said. "I am also very excited about the new gym. It just felt right at Mizzou, and I'm so happy to officially be a Tiger!"
