CHICAGO, Ill. - Former Mizzou track and field standout Adam MacDowell took 15th place overall at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Oct. 9 with a clocking of 2:18.47, earning him a spot at the 2012 US Olympic Trials, which will be held next summer. The former Tiger, now racing for Big River Running, will race for a spot to compete at the 2012 Olympic Games in the marathon at the trials next summer.
MacDowell, who currently resides in St. Louis, Mo., was Big River Running's top finisher at the Chicago Marathon and placed as the No. 5 American in the race. While at Mizzou, the biotechnology major was a six-time All-Big 12 selection and a cross country All-Midwest Region finisher. His primary event on the track while at Mizzou was the 3,000m steeplechase and he also ran in both the 3,000m and 5,000m runs.
