Minneapolis, MN. – Mizzou Tennis continued competition for a second day at the Minnesota Invitational on Sat., Sept. 17.
Junior Maria Christensen had a solid match and defeated Doron Muravnik of University of Minnesota 6-3, 6-1. Sophomore Rachel Stuhlmann vanquished Aria Lambert of Minnesota 6-2, 6-3 while freshman Alex Clark overcame Kristin Kurer of UW-Milwaukee 6-3, 6-3. Fellow freshman Ashleigh Chiaf had a successful day in singles and won two matches going 6-2, 6-2 against Cassia Wojtalik of Bradley and 6-3, 6-1 against Hayley Everett of Louisiana State University.
In doubles, Mera and Christensen fell to Trgovich and Stracar 8-3. Meanwhile, the pairing of Clark and Stuhlmann beat Rodefeld and Miles 8-4.
“We had a solid second day with some tough competitive matches,” said Coach Schmid. “We are proud of the effort of our team. We are learning and improving with each match.”
The Invite will finish up on Sunday, Sept. 18.
