COLUMBIA, Mo. – ESPN and the Big 12 Conference announced the league's Big Monday schedule on Thursday and Mizzou Basketball has two games on the slate, hosting Texas A&M on Jan. 16 at 4:30 p.m. before traveling to Austin, Texas, on Jan. 30 to face the Texas Longhorns at 8 p.m.
Missouri will open Big Monday play on Martin Luther King Day at 4:30 p.m. vs. the Aggies. It's the second consecutive season the Tigers have been selected for the MLK Day contest. Missouri won a 75-59 decision over Kansas State last year in front of a sold out crowd of 15,061 at Mizzou Arena.
Missouri will then travel to the Frank Erwin Center on Jan. 30 to face the Longhorns. It's the first Big Monday game in Austin for the Tigers.
Both games will have special significance for new Mizzou Head Coach Frank Haith. Haith was of course a former assistant to Texas Head Coach Rick Barnes for three seasons (2001-04) and new Texas A&M Head Coach Billy Kennedy was an assistant on Haith's staff at Miami in 2005-06.
