KEENE, N.H - Inclement weather in the Keene area Thursday forced the postponement of the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team's 2011 opener on Thursday. The team is coached by Mizzou head coach Tim Jamieson.
The game was originally scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. ET start against the Keene Swamp Bats, and will be made up Friday morning at 10 a.m. The game will also now be moved to Franklin Pierce University's home stadium, Martha Pappas Field.
Franklin Pierce is located in Rindge, N.H., approximately 30 minutes from Keene.
"It's unfortunate that the rain spoiled an opportunity to play Thursday, but we've been very fortunate to have Keene's help since we arrived Tuesday," said Eric Campbell, General Manager of the USA Baseball National Teams. "They've allowed us to work out indoors at both Keene State and Franklin Pierce and have been very supportive. We're very thankful for the hospitality they've shown us the last few days."
After the game Friday morning, Team USA will travel approximately three hours to Groton, Conn., for a 6:30 p.m. game against the Mystic Schooners at Fitch High School Field.
