Members of the University of Missouri women's basketball team volunteered their time on Friday, May 7, to help the Shoeman Water Projects set a Guinness Book of World Record for the Longest Shoe Chain.
The Tigers helped donate, sort and count some of the 12,480 shoes Shoeman Water Projects received from Mid-Missouri schools, businesses, churches and other organizations, which were then tied into the record-breaking shoe chain at Stankowski Field.
Shoeman Water Project is a non-profit charity working to alleviate as much human suffering as possible and in the process, maximize fun. The Project's work provides affordable shoes in the developing world, life-giving, fresh, clean drinking water to those in need and a splashing good time for the kids
