St. Louis, Mo. - The Missouri soccer team scored two second-half goals to pull out a 2-1 victory against previously undefeated Memphis in the 2011 Parkway West Soccer Showcase. A pair of goals from freshmen Domi Richardson and Danielle Nottingham in the 71st and 72nd minutes gave the Tigers their second win of the spring.
"Today was a great example of the mental toughness I expect of our team," head coach Bryan Blitz said. "It was a game where both sides had a ton of athletic ability all over the field. We rose to the challenge, even when down 1-0, and pulled out a victory."
Memphis is coming off a fall season where it claimed its fourth-straight Conference-USA crown and berth into the NCAA Tournament.
The win marks the second on the spring for the Tigers, who will play Iowa in their final match next Saturday.
