Columbia, Mo. - Who knew the Big 12 Conference coaches would prove to be so prophetic? In the preseason poll Missouri was pegged to finish fifth in the league standings and the Tigers landed in that spot exactly, tying with Colorado for the fifth spot in the league ledger. Due to tie-breakers, however, Missouri will be the #6 seed at next week's Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship and will face the #11 Texas Tech Red Raiders at 8:30 p.m. at Sprint Center in Kansas City on Wednesday (March 9).

The Tigers defeated Texas Tech earlier this season (92-84) in Columbia on Feb. 15.

The winner of that contest will face #3 Texas A&M on Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m. Missouri's game vs. Texas Tech will be carried live on the Big 12 Network. The winner's quarterfinal game vs. Texas A&M will air on ESPN2.

For Tiger fans in the Kansas City area, Missouri will have open practice from 4:30-5:10 p.m. on Tuesday at Sprint Center. The club will then have media availability outside their locker room after the workout.
