March 11, 2011

Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri Soccer team won its first home game of the spring 3-0 against Southeast Missouri State. Freshman Danielle Nottingham had two assists off of set pieces in a three-goal first half.

"We came out with a solid effort today," head coach Bryan Blitz said. "We will use this win as a springboard to build the type of team we want to have at the end of the spring."

Junior Jessie Crabtree got the Tigers on the board in the 24th minute with a head ball goal off of a corner kick. Six minutes later, senior Krista Kruse connected on a Nottingham service from the corner to stretch the lead to 2-0. Sophomore transfer Taiwo Adeshigbin capped off the first half with a shot from 25 yards out that careened off the crossbar and in.

Freshman McKenzie Sauerwein collected the shutout in goal.
