West Lafayette, Ind. - The University of Missouri tennis team fell for the first time this season (4-1) against No. 52 ranked Purdue on Sunday at noon. At number four in singles, Maria Christensen routed her opponent Anna Duskina.  Christensen won her first set 6-4, lost the second 5-7 and triumphed in her third set 7-6.  Jamie Mera, at the number five spot, concluded singles successfully going 2-6 in her first set and overcoming Gisella Pere in the last two (6-4, 7-6).

Purdue, nationally ranked at 52, won 5-2 at the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Ind. Mizzou's number one doubles pairing, Kaitlyn Ritchie and Mallory Weber, faced ITA No. 17 ranked doubles partners Jennifer Robot and Mara Schmidt.  Ritchie and Weber were defeated 4-8. Partners Rachel Stuhlmann and Marlen Hacke of Missouri fell short against Imogen Golder and Bhavani Tirumurti at 7-8. 

The Tigers will compete back on their own courts at the Green Tennis Center in Columbia, Mo. on Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. against Denver.
