Columbia, Mo. - The Atlanta Tipoff Club announced that Missouri junior guard Marcus Denmon was one of 30 players selected to the Naismith Midseason 30 List this week. The Naismith Award, given to the nation's top college basketball player, will be awarded at the 2011 NCAA Men's Final Four in Houston.
Denmon has enjoyed a spectacular junior season for Missouri and leads the club in a number of statistical categories, including points per game (16.5) and steals per game (2.0). Denmon has reached double figures in scoring in 20 of his last 21 contests and has helped the Tigers to an 18-6 overall record.
Denmon is one of four Big 12 players named to the Naismith Midseason list. He joins Alec Burks (Colorado), Jordan Hamilton (Texas) and Marcus Morris (Kansas) on the exclusive listing.
A midseason Second Team All-American by Rivals.com, Denmon and the Tigers return to action on Saturday afternoon vs. Oklahoma. Game time from a sold out Mizzou Arena is slated for 12:47 p.m.
