Missouri closes out both their 2010-11 home schedule and the regular season with one last Big 12 contest, as they host the No. 17 Iowa State Cyclones on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. CT in the Hearnes Center.  The Tigers, ranked No. 13 in the country, are 14-8 on the year and are looking for their first dual win against a Big 12 foe this season.

The contest will be televised live in Kansas City, Mo. on Metro Sports, and will be rebroadcast on tape delay by Fox Sports Midwest on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. CT throughout the entire state of Missouri.  Beau Baehman will handle the play-by-play, while former Tiger All-American Nick Marable will be the color commentator.

Prior to the match, Missouri will honor their three seniors, Luke Cherep, Tyler Perry and Todd Schavrien, as we celebrate their years of dedication to the Tiger wrestling program.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.  Children under two get free admission.

Scouting Iowa State
The Iowa State Cyclones come into this competition ranked No. 17 in the latest NWCA Division I Coaches Poll.  Winners of their last three, the Cyclones are 9-8 overall and 0-2 in the Big 12.  The Cyclones started the year with a 6-2 record before losing their next six contests, all coming against top-10 competition.  Since then, they've knocked off Binghamton, Northern Iowa and Arizona State in the last two weeks.

Iowa State is led by 174 pounder Jon Reader, the top-ranked grappler in his class with a 30-0 record this season.  Reader won tournament titles at the Hokie Open, the Harold Nichols Open and at the Midlands Championships.  Other ranked Cyclones include 141 pounder Chris Drouin, who is 12-6 on the season and ranked 15th in the country.  Andrew Sorenson ranks as high as No. 8 at 165 and is 15-5 on the year, while 197 pounder Jerome Ward sits as high as 10th in the country with a 14-5 record.

Iowa State owns a 44-4 edge all-time over the Tigers.  Three of Missouri's four wins over the Cyclones have come with Brian Smith as head coach of the Tigers, with the last coming in 2009, where the Tigers won 18-15 in Columbia.

Senior Day
Prior to the dual between Missouri and Iowa State, the Tigers will honor the team's three seniors for their commitment and dedication to the program over the years.  Mizzou will recognize Luke Cherep, Tyler Perry and Todd Schavrien.

A five-year member of the Missouri wrestling team, Luke Cherep has been a solid competitor for the Tigers at 133 and 141 pounds during his tenure at Mizzou, posting a career record of 35-18.  He has a pair of runner-up finishes at tournaments this season, placing second at the Roger Denker Open and the MVC Open.  This year, Cherep has made a living off bonus point victories, as he's recorded a major decision or better in eight of his 10 wins, with his five pins tying him for fourth-most on the squad.

After fighting through injury for much of his career, Tyler Perry wraps up his Tiger career with a solid senior campaign.  The heavyweight has picked up 12 wins this season, with five of those coming by fall.  Of those five pins, his 20 second pin of Purdue's Roger Vukobratovich at the 2010 Midlands Championships is the fastest pin amongst all Tiger grapplers this season.  At this year's Midlands, Perry won four of his six matches, with two of those coming against top-20 ranked competition.

Coming to Mizzou after two years at Arizona State, Todd Schavrien has been a staple in the Tiger lineup since 2008.  After spending his first season at Mizzou at 133 pounds, Schavrien has spent his each of the last two years wrestling at 141.  A two-time NCAA qualifier, Schavrien has a career record of 79-41, giving him the most wins amongst active Tigers.  This year, he's won 23 of his 29 matches, is 18-4 in duals, and ranks as high as 12th in the country.  He leads the team with 76 dual points and has scored bonus points in 17 of his 23 wins.

What's Next
Missouri will have a few weeks off from competition before the 2011 Big 12 Championships on March 5 in Ames, Iowa.

Early Points Helping Tigers
Much of the Tigers' success this season has been because of the big wins they've had right off the bat in their dual meets. More specifically, the success they've had at 125, 133 and 141 pounds. The Tigers have scored 480 total team points in duals this season, and 193 of those have come from the first three weight classes, making up over 40% of the team's total. Mizzou has accumulated 50 points at 133 pounds, 67 points at 125 and 76 points at 141. The only other class to pick up more than 50 points is heavyweight, which has accumlated 59 points so far this season. 125 pounds has picked up bonus points in four of their 19 wins, while 133 has scored bonus point wins in six of their 22 matches. 141 pounds leads the way, picking up bonus points in 12 of their 18 victories on the season. Missouri has started every dual but one at 125 pounds this year.

Second Half Shift
After struggling through much of the year at 197-pounds, the re-addition of Brent Haynes into that class have helped turn the tide a bit for the Tigers. After 10 duals this season, Missouri only had recorded 13 points at 197. Since Haynes re-joined the lineup, Mizzou has picked up 26 points at 197 pounds during the team's last 12 duals.

Tigers Toppled By No. 5 OSU
The No. 12 Missouri wrestling team (12-7, 0-2 Big 12) couldn't overcome an early deficit against No. 5 Oklahoma State (11-2-1, 2-0 Big 12), as the Tigers dropped their second straight match, losing 28-6 to the Cowboys on Friday night.

The Cowboys won eight of the 10 matches, with three of those coming by bonus points.  Missouri's only wins came by Dom Bradley at heavyweight and Zach Toal at 165.
