COLUMBIA, MO - The Missouri Soccer program announced today the signing of junior college transfer Taiwo Adeshigbin from Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta, Ga. She ranked fourth in the nation in scoring and helped her team advance the semifinals of the NJCAA National Tournament.
"This is a huge addition for us and we are very excited for Taiwo to join the Mizzou Soccer family," Head Coach Bryan Blitz said. "She has the potential to bring immediate impact to our front line. Her size and scoring ability, along with our more experienced team, should make for a great spring and fall."
Adeshigbin set the Georgia Perimeter College career scoring record with 163 points, on 66 goals and 31 assists, in two seasons.
"I felt that Missouri was quite open about everything, from the coaching staff to the team," Adeshigbin said. "I was informed about everything, and what to expect. I just felt that Missouri is a place that would allow me to accomplish my goals toward my education and my soccer career. I also found the team to be quite friendly and welcoming."
Adeshigbin was a two-time Dean's List student athlete at GPC.
A four sport athlete in high school, Adeshigbin captained the Central Gwinnett Knights soccer and volleyball teams, as well as participated in basketball and track & field.
