Columbia, MO. - The National Soccer Coaches Assocation of America named the Missouri soccer team among its Team Academic Award winners for 2010. The award showcases those select programs that, in addition to staying in good standing with the NCAA, excel academically as a team.
"These kinds of awards are very gratifying for us as a coaching staff," head coach Bryan Blitz said. "We, as a staff, put so much effort into making sure our players have the opportunity to excel academically and in the community. So something like this is a small reminder that those efforts are well worth it. These ladies will go on to positively impact the world once they leave Mizzou."
The award comes shortly after the program completed its fifth straight semester of maintaining a 3.0 grade-point average.
