Team USA defeated El Salvador, 3-0 (25-8, 25-4, 25-7), this morning. Kreklow started each set in the match and dished a match-high 10 assists. She was one of four players for Team USA to start each set. More than half of Team USA's points came from El Salvador errors in the match. Kreklow was given rest midway through each of the final two sets - after starting each - as Team USA won easily in all three sets.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Freshman setter Molly Kreklow (Delano, Minn.) will look to help the USA Volleyball Junior National Team defend its 2008 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NORCECA) Women's Junior Continental Championship this week as she will anchor the team. The tournament was due to start yesterday (July 5), but due to schedule conflicts with travel arrangements, play opens today with Team USA squaring off against El Salvador. Team USA will also play Guadalupe and Mexico in pool play, which will end tomorrow.
Team USA has won the last three Continental Championships, which are held every two years. In fact, since the tournament began in 1998, Team USA is the only squad that has earned a spot on the podium in each of the six tournaments and has never finished lower than third at the event. The tournament pits the top teams from North American, Central America and the Caribbean against each other in a six-day tournament.
Kreklow earned a spot on the team after completing tryouts for the team back in May. She was one of 12 players selected to the team and one of only two setters. She is the only player on the team to be currently enrolled at a Division I NCAA Institution and the only player on the team with NCAA experience as she trained with Mizzou during the spring season.
The tournament will run from July 6-10. The teams must first advance through pool play and then will be in a single-elimination tournament. For all the latest on Mizzou volleyball, stay tuned to MUTigers.com.
