Meet Notes
Women
- Nebraska won its sixth straight heptathlon title with Chantae McMillan's win with 5,349 points. McMillan also claimed the 2010 Big 12 Indoor Pentathlon title.
- Jessica Beard (Texas A&M) was the only woman to run a sub-53.00 400m time in the prelims.
- Chantel Malone (Texas) jumped PR-tying 6.41m (21-00.50) to win the women's long jump. She also claimed the 2010 Big 12 Indoor crown to become the fifth person in Big 12 history to sweep both titles.
- Purity Biwott (Texas Tech) qualified for the finals in both the 1500m and 800m events.
- Texas A&M qualified 13 student-athletes for tomorrow's event finals after today's preliminary rounds. Texas Tech advanced 10 overall and the two schools are the only schools to advance at least 10 athletes.
Men
- Ronnie Ash (Oklahoma) set a Walton Stadium record with a 13.47 in the 110m hurdles prelims.
- Rico Loy (Iowa State) set a personal-best in the 1500m prelims with a 3:49.10.
- Martynas Jurgilas (Kansas State) ran a season high in the 100m prelims with a 10.33.
- Mason Finley (Kansas) won the shot put with a 19.12m (62-08.75) to become just the second true freshman to win the event in the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, joining Missouri's Christian Cantwell, who won as a freshman in 2001.
- Nick Adcock (Missouri) won the decathlon title with a PR 7,704 points. He became the second person in Big 12 history to sweep the indoor and outdoor multi-event titles with the 2010 Big 12 Heptathlon crown.
- 2010 marks the first time in program history that Colorado had three athletes score in the decathlon.
- Mizzou scored more points in decathlon that five teams did through the entire first two days of competition.
- The men's competition is still up for grabs as seven school advanced at least five competitors to tomorrow's event finals on the track. Baylor and Nebraska lead all teams with eight total qualifiers while Texas A&M is right on their heels with seven.
