Tigers Split Two Matches

The Missouri women's tennis team (2-3) split two matches on Saturday, taking a 7-0 win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee, while falling 6-1 to the Minnesota Golden Gophers at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Tigers picked up a lone singles win in their match against Minnesota. Maria Christensen, a freshman from Hellerup, Denmark, picked up a key victory over Minnesota's Jackie Sperling at the No. 5 position, 6-2, 3-6, 10-8. With wins over both Purdue and Memphis this season, Christensen improves her record to 3-1 for the season, with her only loss coming to Ohio State's Fidan Manashirova.
At No. 3 singles, Kaitlyn Ritchie, a junior from Bartlesville, Okla. fell to Alexa Palen, 6-4, 6-3.
At the No. 4 singles spot, freshman Andrea Lewis dropped to 2-3 on the season with a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Doron Muravnik.
The Tigers won all their matches against Wisconsin-Milwaukee this morning, picking up the doubles point and six singles victories. A match-by-match summary will be provided when match scores become available.
The Tigers will return to the court on Feb. 23, when they face-off with Saint Louis University at 5 p.m. at the Green Tennis Center, in a match rescheduled from Feb. 5.
