Columbia, Mo. -- The Missouri men's swimming and diving team returns to the pool this Friday, as they travel to Mansfield, Texas to compete in the second annual Southwest Plunge for a matchup with four traditionally strong programs. Texas A&M, SMU, TCU, and defending national champion Texas will all do battle against the Tigers and each other in a prelims-final meet spread out over Friday and Saturday.
Missouri is the only men's squad entering the meet with prior experience this season. This will be the first meet for Texas and Texas A&M. TCU defeated Air Force in an Oct. 22 meet, 162-138, while SMU was defeated by Air Force the next day 124-119.
Missouri comes into the weekend after a strong showing against Kentucky and SIU in Carbondale, Ill., where they won both meets. Michael Lopresti led the team with two first place finishes in the 100 and 200 breast, while Roko Simunic, Yaniv Shnaider, John Higgins and the men's relay team also claimed victories.
