The Missouri softball team has announced the addition of two pitching camps to their summer camp schedule.  The Mizzou Tiger Pitching Camp and the Mizzou Elite Pitching Camp will both take place from July 6-8, 2010.

The Mizzou Tiger Pitching Camp is broken into two sessions.  The 13 and Under session (Session One) will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, while the 14 and Up session (Session Two) will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The camp will cover mechanics, rhythm, lower body power and different pitches. Pitchers are required to bring their own catcher, tennis shoes, cleats, and their glove.

The Mizzou Elite Pitching Camp will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. each day, and has limited enrollment.  The focus for this camp is mostly on pitch development and improvement, but will also cover increasing velocity, game situations and advanced mechanical techniques.

Doug Gillis, a six-time Team USA pitcher, will be the instructor for each camp.  Assisting him will be former and current Missouri softball pitchers, all of who were current or former students of Gillis.

More information can be found in the camp brochure.  Participants can also register using the online form.
