The Mizzou men's golf team will open play in the NCAA Regional in San Diego, Calif. on Wednesday at Carlton Oaks Golf Club. It is the first trip Regionals for Missouri since 2006 and the ninth regional postseason appearance all-time.

The 2009-2010 season has been one of the most successful for the Mizzou men's golf team in recent years. The Tigers finished in the top three in five of their spring tournaments, including back-to-back tournament titles at the George Washington Invitational (March 19-20) and the C&F Intercollegiate (March 22-23). The also won their opening tournament of the fall, the Turning Stone Intercollegiate.

Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 20-22. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

The finals will be conducted June 1-6 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is the host institution for this year's championships.
