Bar and vault specialist Becky Scholle is gearing up for her life after college. This successful career began in a Plano, Texas, YMCA when she was just four or five years old. Scholle credits her parents for being the driving force that kept her going all of these years.

"I never felt like it was something I had to do," Scholle said. "It was my choice." After moving to and living in Chesterfield, Mo., for most of her life, attending Mizzou was always a dream of hers.

"I was recruited by a bunch of different schools but Missouri was always top of my list," Scholle recalled. "I wasn't sure if I would be good enough to come here."

After improving throughout her high school career her dream to become a Mizzou Tiger came true.

Scholle has had four remarkable seasons with the Mizzou Tigers. She received a career-high 9.850 three times on the bars, which she says is her favorite event.

Her initial goal was to receive a scholarship but by being able to, "compete in every meet and contribute everyway that [she] possibly could" she has exceeded her career expectations and is "pretty happy with that."

Certainly this remarkable woman has achieved a great deal at such a young age; yet, she wants to get her MBA and possibly own a business someday in the future. With her determination and confidence, both developed even more while on the team, she certainly can do anything she puts her mind to.

"When I first got here I think I was really shy and scared to speak up for things," Scholle said. "But I think I have really grown up while here."

Scholle has built lasting relationships with fellow teammates and has allowed herself to enjoy these four years. One of her fond memories includes a giraffe mask worn her sophomore year on a road trip.

She wants incoming members to know that they should just enjoy their four years.

"It goes by so fast," Scholle said. "Everyday that I didn't want to get up and get in the gym or work hard... if I would've known how fast it went by, I think it would've made it a little bit easier."

Scholle has pushed through these four amazing seasons and wants to continue to succeed in this last portion of her gymnastics career. She hopes to make nationals with this talented 2010 group.

Since her freshman year, she and her fellow seniors have said, "our one goal would be to make nationals...so hopefully this year we can!"
