Hey Tiger Fans!
Last week was an exciting and relaxing few days for the gymnastics team! Although most of the other students at Mizzou left Columbia for Spring Break, we stayed in town to train for NCAA Regionals this weekend. Many of the girls, including myself, actually enjoy staying in Columbia over Spring Break because it gives us a chance to focus completely on gymnastics and not have to worry about classes and studying.
Monday and Tuesday were full workouts starting at 10 a.m. After practice we went to the MATC to sprint and lift weights. Wednesday was a lighter day because we only had a bars and beam intrasquad. Thursday and Friday were normal practices in the morning. I think we were all ready for Easter weekend after Friday's conditioning because it was really tough! We were all thankful that the coaches gave us Saturday and Sunday off so that we could spend Easter weekend with our families or just relax in Columbia. I went home to St. Louis to be with my family, and D (Danielle) came with me to be with her "second family". We had a great weekend, and it was nice to spend time at home!
We have our most important meet of the season coming up on April 10 when we host the NCAA Gymnastics Columbia Regional. Make sure you come support your Mizzou Gymnastics team as we try to make history and qualify to Nationals for the first time ever! Hope to see you Saturday, April 10, at 6 p.m. in the Hearnes Center! MIZ-ZOU!!
