Hey Tiger Fans!
I still can't believe it. We made it to NATIONALS! We are still very excited and continue to train hard in the gym. All last week we continued to work on the finishing touches to all our routines. On vault we have been focusing on sticking our landings. On bars we have been hitting our handstands, our positions and also sticking our landings. On beam we are locking out our series and really focusing on the positioning of all of our skills. On floor we keep up the energy and finish all our passes to get ready to perform them at nationals in Gainesville, Florida.
At nationals we will be competing on podium. Meaning all the events will be on a higher level, so you are really all alone in front of the crowd. For me, as a freshman, I am excited to see what the set up is like and to have my first experience at nationals. Just like regionals there will be six teams in our session, and there will be two sessions overall. The 12 teams that made it to nationals are: Oklahoma, Alabama, UCLA, Florida, Oregon State, Arkansas, Nebraska, Michigan, LSU, MIZZOU, Utah and Stanford. In our session we will be competing against Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Michigan and Stanford. The top three teams in both sessions will then advance to the Super Six, and will be competing against each other for the national championship title.
We will be starting with the bye before floor, which for us is a strong rotation. We will start on a bye, then rock floor, nail and stick our vaults, have fun on another bye, hit all our positions on bars and lastly we will be clam aggressive and solid throughout or beam routines.
We leave on Tuesday morning and return Sunday. Stay tuned to see how well your Tigers do!
Enjoy the sun! GO TIGERS!!
