Black & Gold Game Highlights Action-Packed Saturday

April 14, 2010

COLUMBIA, Mo. - A full plate of activities for all ages is planned for this Saturday in Columbia, in association with the annual spring football game.

The headline event on Saturday, April 17th, is the Black & Gold Spring Game, which is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field. The scrimmage will bring to a close the 2010 spring practice period. Admission to the scrimmage is just $3, or three canned food items, which benefit The Food Bank. Collection bins will be located at all west-side stadium entrances (no admittance or seating on the east side of the stadium). Tickets can be purchased at the stadium beginning at 10:30 a.m. on game day at the ticket office located on the north side of the stadium.

Prior to the scrimmage, fans of all ages are invited to check out the Fan Zone on the North Concourse of the stadium. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., and running until kickoff, the Fan Zone will feature a fun mix of free interactive games, activities and exhibits for children and adults. A sampling includes pictures with Truman the Tiger and the Helmet Car, face painting, inflatable games and much more.

For the bargain hunters out there, the Tiger Team Store will be holding its popular spring sale at the Memorial Stadium store. The sale, which features 25-80% off Mizzou gear from Nike, Gear for Sports and Champion, and more, as well as authentic game-worn jerseys and other equipment room items from all sports, runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and again from 12-6 p.m. Sunday, April 18th.

Parking for the spring game is open and free to the public, with the exception of Lot S, located behind the south endzone stands. All other lots around the stadium complex are open for fan parking.

Other events taking place Saturday on the Mizzou campus include exciting Big 12 action with the 11th-ranked Mizzou Softball team against Texas Tech (2 p.m. at University Field), as well as the Mizzou Baseball team taking on Oklahoma State (3 p.m. at Simmons Field/Taylor Stadium).

Fans unable to attend the spring game can watch the action live on mutigers.tv, through the Mizzou All-Access service. A subscription to All-Access will be required to view the game. For more information, please visit the website for more details.
