Omaha, Neb. - Missouri wrestlers opened session three of the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, making a statement, taking five of their first six matches. Through the second round of wrestlebacks, three Missouri wrestlers will compete tonight in hopes of an All-American title.

Thorn chose down in the second period, and with a 2-pt. nearfall, then earned a fall over Schavrien in 3:34. Schavrien finishes the tournament with a 2-2 record.

The Columbus, Ga. native was previously 0-2 against the Cylclone, losing at National Duals and again at the Big 12 Conference tournament. Henderson then attempted to repeat a performance from the National Duals in which he took a 12-10 win in sudden victory over Pennsylvania's Scott Giffin. dropped his second match of the day in a 6-3 decision to Pennsylvania's Scott Giffin. Redshirt freshman Brent Haynes (Kansas City, Mo.) cruised his way to two victories this morning. His first competitor, Army's Richard Starks was defeated by an 8-2 decision. In his second match of the day Haynes had to battle with Ohio State both on and off the mat. With a lively crowd positioned directly above his match, Haynes fought his way to an 11-0 major decision over Cody Magrum. With a 3-1 record so far, No. 12 seed Haynes will go to work with conference competitor No. 6 seed Eric Lapotsky of Oklahoma this evening. Earning wins 100 and 101 by fall, Askren earned All-American honors by advancing to the semifinals, with a 3-0 record at the Championships so far. The All-America accolade is the third of Askren's career, with the other two coming in 2008 and 2009 at 197 pounds.
