Hey Tiger Fans!
This past weekend we had another fun bus trip to SEMO in Cape Girardeau. We competed against the University of Alaska and Southeast Missouri. We all knew that we needed to have a good away meet score in order to help out our RQS in the rankings. Our hard work showed off and we moved up to 14th in the rankings!
In the gym, we have all been working hard on our landings and handstands on bars and it really showed at the meet. Starting us off on bars was Lauren. After that both D and Allie stuck their dismounts and kept the momentum going for the rest of the lineup and exhibitioners.
Next we went to beam, which is a different rotation than usual for an away meet because there were three teams instead of two. Everyone was able to adjust well and stay focused throughout the entire rotation. There were a few bobbles here and there on beam but as a whole everyone looked GREAT!
Floor was next, and regardless of the floor feeling like a rock, it didn't stop anyone's tumbling from being bigger than ever! Everyone's landings and leaps looked spectacular after spending extra time on them at the beginning of the week with Amy.
Vault was our last event and it was a great way to end the meet! Once again everyone has been working very hard on their landings. Al, D and Shi all stuck their landings finishing off the meet with an exclamation point! It was no surprise for us that we would end up winning after our great performances. We even got a day off Monday to enjoy the beautiful weather after a great competition.
Next week we will be traveling again and heading to the University of Illinois! We hope to have a big crowd cheering us on as many of our friends and families will be coming to watch! Hope to see you there! GO TIGERS!!
