Hey Tiger Fans!!

I can't believe we are halfway through regular season. This week was a very interesting week. We trained really hard this work really working on handstands on bars, form on beam and landings on floor and vault.

On Thursday morning we met at Hearnes at 7:30 a.m. to load up the bus for our trip to Shreveport. As we approached Kansas City the bus pulled over to the side of the road and we were all confused as to what was going on. Then Rob informed us that our flight had just been cancelled. At that point we had to sit and wait to see what we could do. After an hour of chaos the meet got rescheduled for Sunday at 4 p.m., so we drove back to Mizzou and had the rest of the day to ourselves.

On Friday we came in and practiced as if it was a normal day and then on Saturday we met again at Hearnes, this time at 9 a.m., for attempt number two to get to Shreveport, Louisiana. This time we were successful! When we arrived in Shreveport we drove to dinner at Olive Garden, then went to the hotel where we got settled in our rooms and then had a team meeting to discuss the itinerary for Sunday.

On Sunday we got up ate breakfast and started to get ready for the meet. Getting ready for meet day is always so much fun in the hotel. We got to Centenary about an hour early so we could get a feel for the arena as well as get any pre-meet treatment.

We started the meet on bars which was highlighted by Becky's awesome bar set, which also was the winning bar routine of the night! Also, Sandra exhibitioned a great bar set, which shows that she is finally settling into competing in college. Then we went to vault, which was highlighted by Alex's HUGE vault and was the winning vault of the night. Then we went to floor where the whole team performed some pretty big tumbling. The event was highlighted by Sarah's routine that was the winning event of the night. I was also very proud of Brittney who exhibitioned an awesome floor routine! She has been working really hard on remembering to set her tumbling up and it really showed this past weekend because her tumbling was huge! Then we went to beam where the beam team did awesome in my opinion. This event had a few highlights. I was personally proud of myself for having a great beam set for myself, especially after not having the best routines on bars and floor, so I was happy I could let it go and help my team out where they needed me on beam. Alex went after me where she also had a sold routine. Mary completely changed her beam routine from last weekend and I love her new series/dismount. She connects her series with her dismount, so now she does a back-handspring, back-handspring, back-layout connected with a full of the end. It is sooo cool! Then Sarah had a flawless beam routine, which includes her quad series which still amazes me every single day! Her amazing routine was winning beam routine of the night!!

After the meet we went to Applebee's and then back to the hotel and to bed because we had to be up really early Monday morning. As a whole, the trip went really well and we are excited to be back home to compete against #2 ranked Oklahoma. I hope to see you all this Friday at 6:30 pm in the Hearnes Center!!!! GO TIGERS!!! MIZ-ZOU!!!!!!!
