Nathanson Nets Bronze At Grand Prix

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Lisa Nathanson became the first Tiger to earn a medal on the second day of the Missouri Grand Prix Saturday night, placing third in the women's 50 free.

Nathanson had the third fastest time in both the morning preliminaries and afternoon finals, swimming 26.06 seconds in the morning and 26.28 seconds in the finals.

Dominique Bouchard and Lauren Lavigna finished fourth and fifth in the women's 100 back event, with Bouchard finishing in 1:03.58 and Lavigna in 1:03.64, as both times were better than their preliminary finishes.

Kim Jasmer had the fastest time after taking the top spot in the women's 400 free earlier in the day, and finished the night earning a fifth place finish in 4:19.88.

Missouri sophomore Jan Konarzewski made the finals of the men's 100 back after finishing in 57.76 seconds in the preliminaries, and finished seventh overall in the finals clocking in at 57.57 seconds.

Newcomer Jowan Qupty made the "B" finals of the men's 200 breast event, and finished with a 13th place showing, touching the pad in 2:25.18.

Kayla Durnil and Morgan McCleery both swam well in the preliminaries of the women's 200 breast, with Durnil finishing sixth in 2:41.34 and McCleery 12th in 2:45.41.

After placing high the day before, Yaniv Shnaider finished 15th in the 200 IM preliminaries, clocking in at 2:13.37.
