Tigers Travel to Minneapolis For Two Matches

Columbia, MO - The University of Missouri women's tennis team (1-2) will head north to Minneapolis, Minn. this weekend to face University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and No. 52 University of Minnesota. Mizzou begins play Saturday (Feb. 13) morning against the Panthers of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2-2) at 8 a.m., followed by a match against Missouri's third Big Ten opponent of the season, Minnesota (3-2) at 1:30 p.m.

Missouri is 0-2 against Big Ten opponents so far this season, with a loss to Ohio State in January, and a 5-2 loss to Purdue last weekend in Columbia.

Milwaukee-Wisconsin opened their season with two wins, against Western Illinois and at IUPUI, before dropping two road matches at Ball State and IPFW.

Minnesota, who moved from No. 62 to No. 52 in the ITA rankings this week, split their last two outings with a 4-3 win over Wichita State and a 3-4 loss to the Big 12's Nebraska. The Golden Gophers proved themselves as a top team and Big Ten threat in their second dual of the season, with a 4-3 win over then No. 28 Kentucky.

The Tigers will return to Columbia taking almost a full two weeks to prepare for the remainder of their spring campaign, before hosting a pair of non-conference foes in Louisville and No. 30 Southern Methodist Feb. 26 and Feb. 28, respectively.
