Hey Tiger Fans!
We are already two meets into season! I can't believe it! We just got back from a wonderful trip to Vegas, winning over some other very good teams: LSU, Kentucky, and Arizona State. This is probably one of the most exciting meets I have competed in at Mizzou!
The meet was held in a hotel, rather than a college arena, so adjusting to our surroundings was a little tough at first. We flew to Vegas Thursday and had a practice session that night. This was very helpful because we were able to get a feel for the equipment and our new surroundings. Thursday night after practice, we ate dinner at Trevi, an Italian restaurant in Caesar's Palace!
On Friday, we spent the day in the hotel, gearing up for the competition that night. Although we had a few bobbles and errors, everyone fought for every skill and every landing. This showed at the end when the Mizzou Tigers came out on top! Although we didn't really get to experience much of Vegas, it was still a great trip!
After looking at the weekly rankings posted today, we are ranked 13th! And we plan on continuing to improve, perfect our routines and move up in the rankings. Also, congratulations to Mary Burke. As an all-around individual, she is currently ranked 7th in the nation!! Awesome job Mary!!
Our next meet will be this Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Hearnes Center. We will be taking on Iowa State for our annual Pink Out Meet! If you wear pink, the admission is only $2. Also, if you show up early, they will be giving away free Mizzou Gymnastics Pink Out shirts to the first 500 fans! We hope to see you this Friday!!
That's all for now. Go Tigers!!
