COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri women's soccer team (8-4-3, 3-0-2) continued their unbeaten run in Big 12 conference play by taking down the Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-6-1, 3-2-1) by a score of 2-1 today at Walton Stadium. Goals from Jessica Greer and Krista Kruse combined with stout Missouri defending helped seal victory for the Tigers.

Senior goalkeeper Tasha Dittamore made a handful of great stops early in the game, tipping a Katie Hinds shot just over the crossbar in the seventh minute and diving at a Taylor Lytle charge in the box in the 11th minute. Kari Adam picked up the first of four total Missouri yellow cards in the 32nd minute for a foul in front of the Texas Tech sideline. The Tigers would get on the board in the 43rd minute, when freshman Haley Krentz sent in a cross from the right sideline to a charging Jessica Greer, who headed home the opening goal to make the score 1-0 just before halftime.

Senior Kristin Andrighetto nearly doubled the Missouri lead early in the second half, when she found herself with space on the left side of the Texas Tech box but pushed her shot just wide of the right post. The Red Raiders would equalize in the 60th minute, when Dawn Ward got a foot on a botched clearance right in front of the Missouri net. The Tigers, however, would net the game winner just five minutes later when junior Krista Kruse got a head on a Kari Adam corner kick to make the score 2-1.

Andrighetto nearly increased the Tiger lead twice late in the game when her long-range effort was denied by the crossbar in the 73rd minute and her goal right in front of the net was disallowed due to a yellow card in the box from Alysha Bonnick. Michelle Makasini and Meghan Pfeiffer were also shown yellow cards before the final whistle, but the Tigers held on for the 2-1 victory.

Missouri returns to action on Friday, Oct. 16, as they travel to Waco, Texas for a match against Baylor at 7 p.m.
