LAWRENCE, Kan. - Missouri redshirt freshman Jace Long carded two rounds of one-under-par 71 and leads in the individual standings as the Tigers hold the top spot in the team race at the Kansas Invitational at Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence, Kan.
Mizzou shot a score of 293 in Monday's first 18 holes, putting it in second place after round one behind only Oklahoma. A second round 296 moved the Tigers ahead of OU. Missouri holds a two-shot lead over the Sooners and Louisiana-Lafayette heading into the final round.
Long's 36-hole total puts him alone at the top of the leaderboard, one shot ahead of Kansas' Nate Barbee and Illinois State's Tommy Bliefnick. Long, Barbee and Bliefnick are the only three golfers in the field under par heading into Tuesday's final round.
Junior William Harrold is tied for 10th place with a 147 total after firing rounds of 71 and 76. Sophomore Chris Johnson carded back-to-back rounds of 75 and is tied for 23rd spot with his 150 total.
Freshman Stuart Ballingall is in a tie for 37th place with a two-round total of 150, while redshirt freshman Brad Moody has a 36-hole score of 160, putting him in a tie for 62nd place.
The final round will be played on Tuesday morning.
