Rey actually earned a 1-0, 2-0 decision over Bradley in the Round 1, but Mizzou's redshirt freshman scored a 4-0, 1-0 decision in Round 2 and a 3-1, 3-0 decision in Round 3 to claim the title and a berth onto the U.S. squad.
