Columbia, Mo. – The No. 67 ranked Missouri women's tennis team (5-5, 1-1 Big 12) will face a pair of Big 12 opponents this weekend as they travel west to face Kansas State and Kansas for dual competition. The Tigers will first play the Wildcats (3-5, 0-1 Big 12) in Manhattan, Kan., on Saturday and then the Jayhawks (7-6, 1-1 Big 12) in Lawrence, Kan., on Sunday. Both matches will begin at 11:00 a.m.
The Tigers are coming off a heartbreaking loss to Oklahoma State in Columbia last weekend. After earning the doubles point Missouri snagged just two singles victories and fell to the Cowgirls, 4-3. Freshman Jamie Mera earned her 11th win, suffering only three losses during the spring season to date. Sofia Ayala also carded a win for MU in singles action, her eighth of the spring season.
After their trip to Kansas the Tigers will host a pair of matches in Columbia at the Green Tennis Center. On Friday, March 27, Missouri will welcome Texas Tech before facing Baylor on Sunday, March 29.
