Hey Tiger Fans! I can't believe how fast this season has gone by. On Friday, we competed against No. 9 Oregon State for our final home meet of the 2009 season. It was a very exciting meet as we posted our second highest team score of the season with a 196.425 and took the win. We also honored Liz, who is retiring after this season, and our seniors, A and Hatch, for their hard work and dedication over the last 4 years. They will both be greatly missed and have meant so much to this team. It was a great way to send these girls off and to get ready for our postseason meets.
The meet started off with a great rotation on vault. Shi won the event as she stuck a huge vault for a 9.825. Mary took second with a 9.8 while Alex and A tied for fourth with a 9.775. We then headed over to bars where the bar team put up a new season high of 49.150. Shi took the event title with a 9.9, performing a great routine. Mary and Hatcher tied for third with a score of 9.8 while Allie put up a great routine for a 9.8. Next, we headed to beam where we put up the second highest beam total of the season with a 49.175. Hatcher and Shi both had great routines and tied for second with a score of 9.9. A also put up a great routine for a 9.825. Floor was another great routine to end the night. A took the event title on a great routine with a 9.9. Shi took second with a 9.85 and Hatcher took third with a 9.825. Alex, D, and Mary also put up great routines and tied for fourth place, all with scores of 9.8.
We were all very proud of our performance as a team and hope to use it as momentum heading into the Big 12 Championship on Saturday. GO TIGERS!!!
