Melnychuk Qualifies for NCAA's

COLUMBIA, Mo. - For the third time in as many years, Tiger senior Kendra Melnychuk will be heading to the NCAA's. The two-time All-American finished in third-place on the 1-meter with a 12-dive total of 582.95 to earn the bronze medal. After posting a score of 282.10 in the preliminaries, Melnychuk went on to complete her best round of the year, finishing with a score of 300.85.

With Melnychuk lined up to compete in the platform dive on Sunday, she will be eligible to dive in all three events at next weekend's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, held in College Station, Texas. The three-day event begins on Thursday, March 19, and runs through Saturday, March 21.

Freshman Jordan Morcom finished in 13th place with a score of 515.00 Morcom scored 255.45 in the preliminary round, and followed that with a 259.55 in the finals. After disappointing second and third dives in the finals, the freshman bounced back and posted impressive scores of 46.0, 48.0 and 48.75 in her last three dives.

Day two of the NCAA Zone "D" Diving Championships will conclude Saturday afternoon with the men's 3-meter. The women will be back in the well Sunday morning for the platform.
