Redshirt freshman Dorian Henderson (Buford, Ga.) was awarded one of 52 at-large bids to the 2009 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships bringing the fifth-ranked Missouri wrestling team's total number of NCAA qualifiers to eight. The eight qualifiers ties a program high previously set in 2007, the same year Missouri finished third at the National Tournament, also a program high showing.
Wrestling at 184 pounds, Henderson was one of six grapplers awarded an at-large bid in his particular weight class. Additionally, Henderson was one of five Big 12 wrestlers awarded an at-large bid This marks Henderson's first ever appearance at the NCAA Championships.
Henderson joins Missouri teammates Todd Schavrien, Marcus Hoehn. Michael Chandler, Nicholas Marable, Raymond Jordan, Maxwell Askren and Mark Ellis as competitors in the 79th annual tournament. The three-day event will run March 19-21, in the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.
