Hey Tiger Fans!

We're six weeks into the season and better than ever! This past weekend, we had our annual Beauty and the Beast event in which gymnastics and wrestling took place simultaneously. This meet is always fun and exciting for us because it brings in such a large crowd! We competed against Illinois, while the wrestlers took on Central Michigan.

The floor was a bit crowded with the wrestling mat taking over a large section of the Hearnes Center, but with our previous training and preparation, we handled the possible distractions wonderfully, and even scored our highest team score of the season! Our 196.625 is the second highest score at home in Missouri history!

Our meet began on vault where once again, Mary started us off with a great score of 9.8. Alex scored a 9.825 and "A" had an impressive 9.85. With the first event under our belt, we took our momentum into bars where Becky led us off with an exceptionally clean routine scoring a 9.775. Allie then followed with a 9.725 and Hatcher took the win with a 9.825. On beam, where we've struggled in the past, we scored the third highest beam score in Missouri history. The huge crowd and loud distractions were no match for this beam team! Again Mary was flawless in the leadoff position, scoring a 9.75. "D" remained extremely calm as she posted a 9.7 and Brooke scored her career high of 9.875 with a beautiful routine. Other great performances from Hatcher (9.875) and "A" (9.825) gave us a 49.25 on beam. Finally to the floor, where the Tigers captivated the crowd with outstanding performances! Al led off with a great score of 9.8, while Hatcher set a new career high of 9.825. Mary was solid again with a 9.85 and "A" finished out the night with a 9.875! What an amazing night! This team came out with lots of energy and did the job that needed to be done! We take on Big 12 rival Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., this Friday, but make sure to come and watch this awesome team at the Cat Classic next Friday!!! See you then Tiger Fans!!!
