Series Notes:
- This matchup marks the first time that Mizzou and Nevada have faced each other. Nevada Coach Chris Ault is now 0-3 against Gary Pinkel.
Pre-Game Notes:
- Team captains for Missouri: Senior FS #1 William Moore, QB #10 Chase Daniel, WR #84 Tommy Saunders, and DT #94 Ziggy Hood.
- Team captains for Nevada: Senior LB #30 Joshua Mauga, OL # 61 Dominic Green, and DL # 94 Mundrae Clifton.
- Nevada won the toss and deferred until the second half. Missouri received and defended the North endzone.
- Chase Coffman wore #25 today in honor of Aaron O'Neal, rather than his usual #45.
First Quarter Notes:
- Chase Daniel's first play, an incompletion, snapped his streak of 14 straight completions, one off the school record of 15 held by Daniel, over the course of two games in 2007, and Kent Kiefer (Sept. 8, 1990).
- On the first drive, the Tigers kicked things off with a 4-play, 72-yard drive, finished off when Derrick Washington ran in a 59-yard touchdown. This marks the longest regular-season rushing touchdown since Brad Smith's 79-yard run against Nebraska in 2005.
- After the Tigers forced a three-and-out on the Wolf Pack's first drive, Jeremy Maclin received an 80-yard touchdown pass on the first play to put Missouri back on the board. Maclin's touchdown completed a 13-second drive, and marked the longest receiving touchdown pass since last year, when Maclin had an 82-yard touchdown reception against Texas A&M on 11/10/07.
- On the second drive, Chase Daniel set the all-time Missouri passing yardage record at 8,846, breaking Brad Smith's previous record of 8,799. Daniel now has 9,153 passing yards.
- Nevada completed a 1-yard touchdown run by QB Colin Kaepernick, finishing a 12-play, 81-yard drive. The Wolf Pack initially scored on a 17-yard run by Kaepernick, but the play was overturned after Kaepernick stepped out of bounds at the 1-yard line.
- Danario Alexander made his season debut after rehabbing from a torn ACL in the third drive of the quarter. He finished the game with one catch for seven yards.
- Kicker Jeff Wolfert connected on a 27-yard field goal to complete an 11-play, 63-yard drive for Missouri.
Second Quarter Notes:
- Mizzou opened the quarter with a 5-play, 60-yard drive finished by a 27-yard touchdown pass from Daniel to Jared Perry.
- Nevada finished a 17-play, 62-yard drive by completing a 31-yard field goal by Brett Jaekle.
- After a 6-play, 54-yard drive, Derrick Washington ran the ball in 2 yards for a touchdown, his second of the day, giving the Tigers a 21-point lead.
- After review, Daniel's 14-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin was ruled good, giving Daniel his 3rd touchdown pass of the half. The Tigers' 5-play, 68-yard drive lasted only 32 seconds. Mizzou's 11 scoring drives averaged under 2 minutes each.
- Nevada finished the half with a 42-yard pass completion to Marko Mitchell for a touchdown, after a 6-play, 66-yard drive.
Third Quarter Notes:
- Missouri began the half with a 4-play, 69-yard drive, ending in a 49-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin. The touchdown marked Maclin's 3rd of the day, tying the school record for touchdown receptions in a game. He shares the record with Victor Bailey (vs. Kansas in 1991), Dwayne Blakley (vs. W. Michigan in 1999), and Chase Coffman (vs. Colorado in 2007).
- After a three-and-out from the Wolf Pack, Chase Coffman scored on a fake field goal play, receiving a 32 yard pass from Tommy Saunders. The Tigers initially scored on a 12-yard pass to Jared Perry, but the play was called back on a holding penalty. The drive was for 72 yards and consisted of 10 plays. This marks the third consecutive game in which the Tigers have scored more than 50 points.
- Tommy Saunders' connection to Chase Coffman for the seventh touchdown of the game was not their first connection of the sort. In the 2006 Sun Bowl vs. Oregon State, their roles were reversed, as Coffman threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Saunders.
- After an unsuccessful Nevada drive, Chase Patton entered the game as quarterback. Patton scored on a 2-yard rush in his first drive of the game, which took 7 plays and 76 yards.
- Chase Daniel's last drive of the game marked his 12th straight drive resulting in a score. Daniel also broke the school record for passing completion percentage, with 82.1%. The previous record, 81.8%, was set by Mike Hyde in 1981 vs. Rice.
Fourth Quarter Notes:
- After taking over on downs, Tiger Blaine Gabbert entered the game as quarterback.
- Jeff Wolfert connected on a 24-yard field goal after a 4 play, 9 yard drive led by Gabbert.
- With 5:47 in the 4th quarter, the Tigers punted for the first time in the game. Jake Harry punted for 44 yards, resulting in a touchback for Nevada.
- Jeff Gettys intercepted a pass from Nevada quarterback Nick Graziano for a 27-yard touchdown. This marked the 9th touchdown of the game, setting a school record. The Tigers had scored 8 touchdowns in a game 5 previous times.
Post-Game Notes:
- The attendance for the game was 54,202.
- Research is incomplete as of press time, but today's game is believed to be the first time that the Tigers have had three 100-yard receivers. The last time Mizzou had a pair of 100-yard receivers was at Colorado last year (Will Franklin 109, Maclin 108).
- Jeremy Maclin's 172 receiving yards tie for the 8th-best single game receiving yardage in school history. Maclin also now ranks 5th in Missouri history in all-purpose yardage.
- Chase Patton set a personal high for passing yardage in a game (72 yds today, 64 previously), as well as having his career long pass with a 48-yard pass (his previous high was a 22-yard pass vs. Illinois State in 2007).
- As a team, the Tigers passed for 5 touchdowns, tying the school record, which had been set 3 times previously by Chase Daniel individually.
- The Tigers set the school record for most team passing yards in a game, with 519 yards total. The previous record was set in 1992 against Oklahoma State (480 yds).
- Four Tigers broke their personal highs for receiving yards in a game: Jeremy Maclin (172 yds, previously 146), Chase Coffman (127 yds, previously 120), Tommy Saunders (100 yds, previously 82), and Jared Perry (98 yds, previously 92).
- With 69 total points, Mizzou tied the school record for most points scored in a game. The Tigers also scored 69 points vs. Kansas in 1969. The last time Mizzou scored over 60 points in a game was vs. Texas Tech in 2003.
- The Tigers had 651 yards of total offense, the first time they have had more than 600 since playing Nebraska in 2007 (606 yds).
- Kicker Jeff Wolfert set a new school record, with 9 extra points in a single game.
- With the win against Nevada, the Tigers' current non-conference winning streak of 8 games is the longest in school history. The streak began on 9/1/07, when the Tigers defeated Illinois 40-34. Mizzou had 7 straight wins against non-conference opponents from 1981-82.
