Mizzou junior Aaron Crow has been named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year, as announced by the Big 12 office on Tuesday. The league also announced the All-Big 12 Team selections, with seven Tigers earning All-Conference recognition.
Crow is tied for the lead nationally with a 12-0 record and has set a new school record with the 12 victories. He leads the Big 12 with 111 strikeouts on the year. He is the second MU pitcher to earn Big 12 Pitcher of the Year, joining former Tiger Max Scherzer, who took the honor in 2005.
Joining Crow on the All-Big 12 First Team were sophomore Aaron Senne and senior Jacob Priday. It is the first honor for Senne, who is hitting .363 on the year with 13 home runs and a team-best 63 RBI. Priday has now earned All-Conference honors four-straight years. He leads Mizzou with 15 home runs on the year, hitting .339 with 57 RBI.
Sophomore Trevor Coleman was named to the Second Team, while sophomore Greg Folgia, sophomore Kyle Gibson and junior Ryan Lollis were Honorable Mention selections. Gibson is 8-1 on the season with 89 strikeouts, while Folgia and Lollis are hitting .300 and .330, respectively.
The Big 12 Conference Championship begins on Wednesday in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Tigers will open the week against Texas at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
