- Sophomore TB Derrick Washington eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the 2008 season on a 2-yard carry with 0:43 seconds left. That pushed his season total to 1,001 yards, marking only the 11th time in MU history it has had a 1,000-yard rusher. It's only the 8th time MU has had a TB over 1,000 yards, as 3 of the 1,000-yard seasons came by former QB Brad Smith...
- Washington is the 3rd sophomore in MU history to attain a 1,000-yard rushing season, as he joins former Tigers Brad Smith (1,406 yards in 2003) and Darrell Wallace (1,120 in 1985) in that club...
2nd Quarter
- Senior PK Jeff Wolfert put the Tigers on the scoreboard after a scoreless first period, with a 31-yard FG at the 14:49 mark to close Mizzou to within 7-3.
- Consensus First-Team All-American all-purpose back Jeremy Maclin got the Tigers in the endzone for the first time of the game with a 75-yard punt return for a TD at the 1:00 mark to make it 10-10. It was Maclin's first punt return TD of the season, and the third of his career, giving him the most in MU history. He co-held the career mark of two career punt return scores coming into tonight's game...
- The return TD also gave Maclin five career combined kick returns for TD (3 punt, 2 kickoff), which extends his Mizzou record. The previous mark was three prior to Maclin...
3rd Quarter
- After Northwestern drove for a TD on its opening drive to take a 16-10 lead (missing the PAT), the Tigers marched right back downfield to take a 17-16 lead at the 7:20 mark, on an 11-yard TD pass from Chase Daniel to WR Danario Alexander. The TD capped a 12-play, 63-yard drive that consumed 4:44 on the clock and gave MU its first lead of the game and was MU's first offensive TD of the game...
- The TD pass was the 38th of the season for Daniel and the 100th of his Tiger career. It was Alexander's fifth TD reception of 2008, and the eighth of his career, and came at the stadium where he injured his knee in the 2007 Big 12 Championship Game...
- After having a first-quarter fumble recovery negated by an offsides penalty, the Tiger defense finally got a takeaway as senior LB Brock Christopher intercepted a pass at the MU 48-yardline and returned it 22 yards to the Northwestern 30. It was the third interception of the season for Christopher (5th career)...
- Mizzou converted the turnover into a 20-16 lead at the 3:46 mark on a Wolfert 43-yard field goal...
- The quarter ended with Northwestern holding a 23-20 lead...
Forth Quarter
- Jeff Wolfert's fourth quarter 37-yard field goal with 2:49 left on the clock brought the Tigers even with Northwestern for the second time of the game, 23-23.
Overtime
- The Tigers and Wildcats were forced into overtime tied at 23 after Jeff Wolfert failed on his 44-yard field goal attempt. The overtime marked just the second time in the 16-year history of the Alamo Bowl that the game was forced into overtime. Additionally, it marked Missouri's first-ever overtime in a bowl game and first overtime game since its 27-24 win over Iowa State, Oct. 15, 2005. With the win, Missouri improved to 6-1 in overtime games under Tiger Head Coach Gary Pinkel.
- Jeremy Maclin's first receiving touchdown of the game came in the first overtime period on a seven-yard pass from QB Chase Daniel giving Missouri the 30-23 lead and eventual win. Maclin's two touchdowns marked the fourth game of the season in which the Tiger wide receiver scored two or more touchdowns in a single game. His 13th receiving touchdown of the year, it stands at three more than the previous Missouri single season high of 10 set by Sean Coffey in 2004. Maclin finishes his season with 102 receptions, breaking the previous single season reception record set by Martin Rucker in 2007 (84). In addition, Maclin set the single season receiving yards mark at 1,260 yards, improving on the previous high of 1,210 set by Victor Bailey in 1992.
- LB Sean Weatherspoon finished the day with 17 tackles, two-and-a-half for loss including a 10-yard sack that held the Wildcats scoreless in overtime. Weatherspoon now has 29 career tackles for loss.

- Senior PK Jeff Wolfert finished his career at the University of Missouri as the all-time leading scorer with 361 career points, 77 points more than previous record holder Brad Smith (284). Wolfert's 11 points in the game put the Tiger kicker at 133 points in the season, the most in a single season which bests the previous single season mark of 130 also set by Wolfert in 2007. At 72-for-72 on PAT's, Wolfert improved on the old PAT attempted and made mark in a single season which previously stood at 67-for-67 set by Wolfert in 2007. Wolfert closed he career 243-for 256 on combined kicks (FGs and PATs). His 94.9% accuracy is an NCAA record for kick accuracy breaking the old mark of 93.3% held by UCLA's John Lee (1982-85).
- Finishing the day with 229 yards of total offense, Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel set the single season record for total offense, 4,616 yards.
- Chase Daniel finishes his career with 12,515 career passing yards, placing him 10th in the NCAA career passing yards list. Daniel's 101 career passing touchdowns is seventh on the NCAA career list. His 13,486 career yards of total offense puts him seventh in NCAA history.
- Jeremy Maclin finished the 2008 season with 2,833 all-purpose yards, which ranks fifth in history.
- Stryker Sulak recorded two sacks on Monday, giving him 10.5 sacks for the season, which is just 0.5 sacks short of the MU season record of 11 held by former All-American Justin Smith in 2000. For his career, Sulak has 22.5 sacks, which ties for second all-time at MU with Smith. (MU leader is Brian Smith with 31.5).
