SAN ANTONIO - The Missouri Tiger football team got back to practice Wednesday morning as they took to the field at Alamo Heights High School, working out for nearly two hours in 70 degree weather, donning shoulder pads and shorts.
The team got a good session in as it continued preparations for the Dec. 29th Alamo Bowl against Northwestern. They even got to have some fun at the end of practice when they held a 7-on-7 game between the offensive line and defensive line. The D-line took the ball first and drove downfield behind DE Tommy Chavis, who played quarterback and completed a TD pass of around 60 yards to DE Stryker Sulak. Sulak, who is not a wide receiver for a clear reason, bobbled the wide-open pass about three times before he finally hauled it in and ran untouched for the score. Chavis also completed a long pass to DE Jacquies Smith.
The offensive line didn't fare as well, as their two possessions ended with no score. Ryan Madison was the team's quarterback, and he had one play that could have gone for a long TD, but his pass to freshman tackle Elvis Fisher was dropped.
The team got some downtime in the afternoon before heading to Knibbe Ranch outside of town, where they had a Christmas feast and an autograph party with the travel party. They also sang Christmas carols and did some horseback riding.
Practice resumes Christmas morning at Alamo Heights High School.
