Hey Mizzou Fans!
Gymnastics season is starting up and your Mizzou Tigers are ready! We've been implementing a lot of new assignments and pressure sets throughout practice lately to help us learn to cope with the added pressure that meet season brings in.
Last week was the first week back from Thanksgiving break and also our first six day workout week. Our ability to maintain strength, consistency, determination and team unity were shown especially during the past week. Assignments were tougher as we began preparing for the Black and Gold meet as the start of competition season. Some days in the gym were harder than others, but we were all there supporting and cheering each other on to get through those difficult assignments.
Friday we had an intrasquad during practice time and everyone is starting to look great! We all hit our skills and really started to show off the flash in our routines. After the intrasquad, we had an hour to go back to each event and work on what we thought we needed to make better in our routines. Whether it was leaps on beam, dance on floor, casts on bars, or consistency for vault, we all kept busy for that hour, knowing that each turn counts in the effort to make us better competitors and a stronger team.
We're in the gym again this week hitting it just as hard, focusing more on pressuring ourselves and keeping the consistency up. We hope to see you at our Black and Gold meet, on Saturday December 13!
Go Tigers!!!
