Carroll Named to All-Tournament Team

Nov. 24, 2008

SAN JUAN, P.R. - Missouri senior forward DeMarre Carroll was named to the 2008 Puerto Rico Tip-Off All-Tournament Team late Sunday evening by the event's media and organizing committee.

Carroll led Missouri and finished second in the tournament in scoring with 20.3 points per game, including a career high 29 points in the Tigers' 83-72 win over No. 19 USC in the fourth-place game.

"It was just a great win for our program," Carroll said after the game on Sunday. "We feel like we can compete with anyone. Our young guys really gave us a lift off the bench and when we got into `winning time', we had the energy to impose our will on them."

In addition to his 20.3 ppg average over the three games, the Birmingham, Ala., native added 6.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals. He also hit 3-of-5 three pointers and shot 59.5 percent from the floor.

Missouri returns to action on Sunday against another returning NCAA Tournament team, Oral Roberts at Mizzou Arena. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
