COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri women's basketball team helped kick off Homecoming festivities on Saturday during the 10th annual Brewer Breakfast, held at Brewer Fieldhouse in the Mizzou Student Recreation Complex. Almost 700 fans ate free pancakes and sausages as the 2008-09 squad and the Tiger Wheelchair Basketball team each scrimmaged.

The Tigers were divided into two teams and played five 10 minute periods with a rolling clock, with the White team pulling out a 64-53 victory. The White squad was made up of senior Alyssa Hollins, junior Jessra Johnson, sophomore RaeShara Brown, redshirt freshman Bekah Mills and freshman Kendra Frazier and Bailey Gee. The Black team featured juniors Amanda Hanneman, Toy Richbow and Marissa Scott, sophomores Shakara Jones and Jasmyn Otote and freshmen BreAnna Brock and Christine Flores.

The White team got off to a fast start and built a nine-point lead after one period, as Johnson led the way with six points. Gee made a pair of jumpers in the second period to give the White squad a 10-point lead after two.

The Black team stormed back in the third period with 18 points, as Otote and Richbow each recorded five and Flores had four in the frame to cut their deficit to five points. However, White used a balanced attack in the fourth, led by four points from Brown, to put the team back up by five with one quarter to play.

With the Black team poised to make a comeback, White used the hot hand of Frazier, who recorded eight points in the final frame.

Mills led all players with six assists, while Brock, Brown, Frazier, Johnson and Jones all had at least six rebounds. Hollins recorded two blocks.

Season ticket packages are now on sale for the 2008-09 home schedule, and have two exciting options this year. The KMIZ-ZOU Spirit Pass gives the holder admission to each of seven Mizzou sports, including women's basketball, on a general-admission basis. In addition, women's basketball fans who wish to purchase a reserved seat for the season may continue to do so with the purchase of a basketball-only season ticket.

To purchase season or individual-game tickets, fans may stop by the Mizzou Arena Box Office, call 1-800-CAT-PAWS (573-884-PAWS in mid-Missouri), or buy online at www.MUTigers.com. The Tigers' lone exhibition game is Friday, Nov. 7, against Southwest Baptist, and the 2008-09 home opener is Friday, Nov. 14, against South Dakota State at 6:30 p.m.
