Columbia, Mo. - Basketball season is just around the corner and the Missouri Tigers will host their annual Black & Gold Game on Wednesday (Oct. 29) evening at 7 p.m. inside Mizzou Arena.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and members of the Mizzou Basketball team will be on the concourse of Mizzou Arena signing autographs for fans in attendance. Team posters and schedule cards will be available.
KMIZ's Beau Baehman and Kevin Lewis will coach the Tiger Black Squad made up of: Laurence Bowers, Marcus Denmon, Matt Lawrence, Leo Lyons, Keith Ramsey and Zaire Taylor, while KFRU's Spencer Kane and Jet Roberts will guide the Tiger Gold Squad of: Michael Anderson, Jr., DeMarre Carroll, Kimmie English, Steve Moore, Miguel Paul, Justin Safford and J.T. Tiller.
Missouri Basketball is partnering with the Central Missouri Food Bank for this year's Black & Gold Game and encourages fans to donate two canned food items per person to gain entry to the event. For fans not bringing canned food items, admission price is $5 for adults, $3 for youth/seniors and Free for Mizzou students. Any fan who brings a ticket stub from Saturday's Homecoming football game against Colorado will receive $2 admission.
The Black & Gold Game will be the only formal preseason opportunity for Tiger fans to catch a glimpse of their 2008-09 squad before the start of exhibition play on Nov. 6. Mizzou opens regular-season play on Nov. 15 against Prairie View A&M.
