
Jeffries Shines at Pre-Nats for Tiger Harriers

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -
The Missouri cross country squads competed Saturday morning in the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., the site of the NCAA Cross Country Championships that will be held in the latter part of November. Junior Garett Jeffries (St. Louis, Mo.) shined for the Tiger men as he finished 35th in the "Blue" race, slashing 16 seconds off his personal best in the eight-kilometer race in clocking 24:14.0.
Junior Dan Hedgecock was the Tigers' second finisher (25:00.3, 111th) while sophomore Dan Quigley impressively took 69 seconds off his previous best with a 25:04.4 clocking for 117th. Sophomore transfer Michael Pandolfo followed close behind to take 119th at 25:04.9. Michael Barrows rounded out the Tiger scoring at 136th with a 25:09.0 time.
The Tiger women placed 29th out of 41 as a team in the "Blue" race. Sophomore Kinsey Farren (Dallas, Texas) led Mizzou for the fourth time of four races this season in showing at 119th place and clocking 22:05.6. Mizzou's top five was rounded out by Emily Baker (22:21.9, 153rd), Angela Potrykus (22:35.2, 178th), Jessica Armstrong (22:39.1, 185th), and frosh Aimee Bonte (22:49.0, 199th).
The Tigers will now prepare for the Big 12 Cross Country Championships that will be held November 1 in Ames, Iowa.
