Sept. 30, 2008
COLUMBIA, Mo - University of Missouri women's soccer player Tasha Dittamore was selected as the big12sports.com Student-Athlete Spotlight this week. The junior goalkeeper has been a key piece to the No. 24 Tigers 6-3-0 start this season and her four shutouts lead the conference.
The feature includes an article and a 30-second video of Dittamore's highlights from the 2008 season. The Granite City, Ill., native has recorded 37 saves so far this season and is the only Tiger to have played all 830 minutes in 2008. Dittamore was honored as Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 2 after shutting out Auburn and was a 2007 Big 12 All-Newcomer team honoree.
Each week, the conference website chooses one school to be "In Focus" and Missouri has been given the distinction for the Week of Sept. 26-Oct. 3. Tiger football players Chase Coffman, Chase Daniel, Jeremy Maclin and William Moore will each be featured in "On the Spot" segments, while women's cross country runner Kinsey Farren and football kicker Jeff Wolfert will have articles on their achievements in their respective sports. The Missouri Cheer Squad will also have a highlight video posted on the Big 12 Network video section.
Dittamore and the Tigers return to action this Friday as they take on No. 17 Colorado at 6:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium.
